Welcome to Lassie League!
We hope you had a great summer and we can’t wait to welcome you back! Here is some important information for the upcoming season.

The upcoming season is starting to take shape. The board and coaches have been working together to make changes toward improving the experience for everyone. As always, if you have questions, concerns, or feedback, please contact us at lassieleague1@yahoo.com. This email is monitored by volunteers, so while we do strive to answer in a timely manner, even if it takes us a few days, we will respond.

Registration
Registration is now open. Please register as soon as possible as this helps us ensure we have enough coaches & support for the upcoming season. It’s also beneficial to you by getting a discount for early registration if paying in full. We do offer the ability to spread payments over a longer period if taking advantage of the payment plan.

This season a change has been made to the division ages, with the new ranges are as follows.
Rookies  5 – 8
Minis  8 - 12
Jrs (Majors)  12 - 14

Srs  14 - 17

As the divisions have become more competitive, we made this change with an eye toward stronger development at all levels and player safety. If this change will result in your child moving down a division, you may remain in the division you played last season or choose to move. For example, your child is 8 years old and played in the Minis last season, but would be considered a Rookie this season, you may opt into remaining a Mini. If you are unsure what is best for your child, please reach out to last season’s coach or the board for guidance.

If you feel your child should be playing up a division, you will need to register them based on age and contact the board and request a skills evaluation during tryouts.

If your child has a rideshare situation that you would like to be considered during team placements, you must email the league at the address below prior to tryouts. Verbal communication to the coach can’t be honored during or after they are placed on a team.

 Coaches & Volunteering
We are an organization completely run by volunteers and rely on support from our families and sponsors to make our season a success. If you are interested in being a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Parent, Scorekeeper, assisting with chalking the fields, working concessions, or if you can provide any other assistance, please let us know.

Sponsorships
We are thankful to all who have or are looking forward to sponsoring our league. We have multiple opportunities for those interested, including team jerseys, banners, and the sponsor wall. Also, we always have a project improvement list for the fields that need help, and we welcome donations of equipment, time, or materials. Sponsors are important to us, so we are looking at new ways to incorporate them into our season. This year, we plan to have a sponsor networking night and invite sponsors to participate in our social events. For more information, please contact a board member or email us.

Spots are filling up fast for jersey sponsors, so please reach out soon if interested.

                                                - New Juniors & Seniors 6:00 pm Sign in & Warm Up 6:30 pm Assessment begins

If you have a conflict on your assigned night, please come out for the other or reach out to us. Even if you plan to stay with the same team as last season, it is still necessary to be assessed as this helps us level out teams making the games more competitive.

Your child must be fitted for a jersey on one of these two nights. If we have not fit your child and you do not reach out to us, we will order based on what is provided during registration or your order may be delayed. Every season, around 25% of the girls order a size different from what is registered, so this is very important. If your child does not attend a fitting and the registered size does not fit, the league will not pay the cost of a new jersey.

Mandatory Parent Meeting
We believe that communication with our parents is important. As we have stated before, we are making changes and trying new things this season. To help keep everyone informed, we are holding a mandatory parent meeting during the skills assessment. There is a lot of information to share this season, so we are requiring at least one family member to attend. The meeting will start approximately 15 minutes after assessments begin and will make an announcement as to which bleachers we will be meeting. Thank you again for your support of our organization.

We are grateful to have you with us.

See you at the fields!
